Uber is taking a shot at NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio with a new fake feature in its app.

uber-de-blasio-nycThe new feature in the Uber app is called “de Blasio.” When the feature is selected, users will see a screen that says there aren’t any cars available. If users click on this the app will tell them that this it what it will look like if the NYC mayor passes a bill that would limit the number of drivers the company can have, reports Wired.

The bill that Uber is fighting is expected to be voted on by the NYC council. Mayor de Blasio argues that the bill could reduce traffic congestion, but the taxi company says it will kill jobs. The fake Uber feature is only available for users living in NYC, Wired notes.

The fake de Blasio feature in the Uber app will also sometimes show users a wait time of 25 minutes. It will also prompt users to send an email to the mayor saying that they don’t want the new bill to be passed, reports

TechCrunch.
