Ifixit.com. The website’s teardown of the new 21.5-inch iMac found that several parts of the device are soldered in, which makes it incredibly hard to repair and almost impossible to upgrade. The RAM and CPU are both soldered to the logic board of the new iMac and it’s missing a Fusion Drive connector. The teardown also revealed that the glass and LCD for the display are fused together, which increases the costs to repair the computer. The website gave the new 21.5-inch iMac a Repairability Score of 1 out of 10, meaning that it’s very hard to repair.

Magic: Apple’s Magic Trackpad 2, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard have been taken apart, reports AppleInisder. A look inside the tech company’s new Magic devices found that they share many of the same chips and are all equipped with similar lithium-ion batteries. The breakdown of the devices also showed that they pull many of their parts from already existing technology used in Apple’s other products. This look at the devices also revealed that there’s a lot of adhesive holing them together, which makes them hard to open if repairs need to be made.
