The Dirty Dancing remake won’t be coming to theaters, but will instead appear on TV. It will air on ABC and will be three hours long. This version of the film will be produced by Lionsgate TV and directed by Wayne Blair, reports BBC News.

The TV version of Dirty Dancing will also have Eleanor Bergstein, the screenplay writer for the first film that also worked on the musical adaptation, behind it. It’s unknown when this remake of the film will be released and no other cast members have been announced, BBC News notes.

This isn’t the first attempt at reviving Dirty Dancing

since its original release in 1987. There was a TV series released on 1988 and a sequel called Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights in 2004. Several older movies have been remade lately in an effort to cash in on nostalgia, reports USA Today.
