The Fashion Santa has taken the world by storm.
A Toronto mall Santa Claus has put his own stylish twist on the Christmas icon, donning short, white hair, the classic Santa beard, and a red velvet or leather jackets to go along with his lean figure and a white shirt.
The Fashion Santa is making waves in the U.S., the U.K., Germany and France where Paul Mason has become a fashion and holiday icon. CNN, GQ and Time Magazine have all covered Mason’s look.
“Fashion Santa in Toronto and Hipster Santa in Portland are delighting parents everywhere,” GQ wrote in an online article.
Mason’s been a male model for more than thirty years and he created Fashion Santa in 2013 when he grew a beard.
“It just dawned on me,” he said. “(The beard) kind of looked like Santa Claus but not the original Santa Claus, with a little bit of a fashion twist.”
