Lottery: Powerball Jackpot Hits $258 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

The Powerball Jackpot has soared to impressive heights following another draw in which no participant managed to grab the big prize.

The Powerball jackpot’s numbers are drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1 in 292,201,3338.

The largest payday that has ever been issued out thanks to the Powerball jackpot took place on January 13, 2016, when three different people won a total of $1.586 billion in California, Florida and Tennessee.

Prior to this figure, the largest lottery payout from Powerball took place in Florida, when someone raked in a massive $590.5 million. As of September 28, 2014, Puerto Rico has begun selling Powerball tickets.

Meanwhile, Mega Millions will select numbers Friday night for a $54 million prize. The lottery has draws on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m., and the odds of winning the jackpot with a $1 ticket are 1 in 258.9 million.
