High Options Volume by Strike

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSE: SPY) is almost all the action this morning with its SPY Jun Weekly 132 Put trading nearly 60,000 contracts, down .24 to .26. The SPY Weekly 133 Put and SPY Weekly 134 Put also seeing big volume. The SPY Jun 132 Put is down .21 to 1.16 on 52,000 contracts. Trade-Alert reports that 103,000 puts traded in the SPYders in the first ten minutes of trading with the June 132- March 2012 106 Put Spread bought 10,000 times at $1.47 on the International Securities Exchange.

The CBOE Volatility Index (CBOE: VIX) sees more than 60,000 options trade in the VIX Jun 27.5 Call, as the VIX is now valued at 16.27, up .29. The strike is down .05 to .20.

The US Natural Gas Fund (NYSE: UNG) trades more than 33,000 contracts in its UNG Jun 12 Call as it rises .11 to .26.

Stocks/Underlying – Big Daily Change in Option Volume

Viacom Corp. (NYSE: VIA) raised its quarterly dividend by 67% to 25 cents a share. Option volume topped 20,000 contracts as the stock rose negligibly to 50.08.

Pharmaceutical HOLDRS (NYSE: PPH) has option volume of more than 3,000 contracts as underlying rises .56 to 71.86.

Dreamworks Animation (NASDAQ: DWA) falls .080 to 24.03 on disappointing numbers for its Panda 2 movie. More than 5100 options trade hands.

Volume Leaders – Equity Options

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) traded more than 114,000 options this morning with 63% on the call side. AAPL rises more than $6 to 343.77.

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) is up slightly to 11.72 as more than 64,000 options trade with 77% on the call side.

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is getting hammered as it falls 1.38 to $6.81 on 61,000 options, with more than 58% on the put side. NOK warned of poor second quarter numbers.
