High Options Volume by Strike

The old Citi (NYSE: C), that’s the pre-reverse split C1, tops the most active strikes with the C1 Jun 4.5 Put trading 56,000 contracts as it rises a meager .01 to .75.

The SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE: SPY) is busy all over with its SPY Jul 125 Put trading nearly 56,000 options and its SPY Sep 120 Put trading more than 50,000. The SPY is down .09 to 128.88.

The CBOE Volatility Index (CBOE: VIX) sees its VIX Jul 35 Call trade nearly 53,000 options against the index with the VIX at 17.80. So VIX has to nearly double by mid-July for the strike to be at-the-money.

Stocks/Underlying – Big Daily Change in Option Volume

Warner Chilcott (NASDAQ: WCRX) falls .25 to 22.49 and trades more than 9.200 options, a rise of about 2,000%. According to reports Citi analysts gave the stock a buy rating yesterday after having dinner with the CEO.

Sanderson Farms (NASDAQ: SAFM) gets a court ruling in its favor on a zoning case. The stock is unch but more than 14,000 options trade.

Rubicon Tech (NASDAQ: RBCN) sees option volume jump to about 16,000 contracts and a rise of more than 80%. Stock falls .38 to 22.38.

Stocks/Underlying – High Option Volume

The SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE: SPY) trades more than 1 million options as it gets near to flat. The Standard & Poor’s Index Options (CBOE: SPX) is also nearly flat and 294,000 options change hands.

The iShares Russell 2000 (NYSE: IWM) is down .41 to 79.33 and trades nearly 307,000 options.

The CBOE Volatility Index (CBOE: VIX) trades about 175,000 contracts.

PowerShares QQQ Trust (NASDAQ: QQQ) trades more than 167,000 options as it falls .18 to 55.61.

Top equity is new Citi (NYSE: C) which is down .03 to 37.55 and 84,000 options.
