No. 3 soft drink maker, Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE:DPS), will introduce five new version of its sodas next year, all of which contain 10 calories.
The new beverages follow on the heels of 2011’s launch of Dr Pepper Ten, a 10-calorie version of the popular soda, the Associated Press reports. The new drink line is designed to appeal to those who want a low-calorie drink without totally giving up the sweet taste. The 10-calorie formula contains a small amount of high-fructose corn syrup to maintain the drink’s flavor without adding extra calories.
The new drinks are:
- 7-Up
- Sunkist
- Canada Dry
- RC Cola
- A&W Root Beer
Unlike Dr Pepper Ten, which is marketed to men, the new drinks will be marketed to both men and women.
