Weyerhaeuser Leads 8 Companies Increasing Dividends

Despite a down week for the S&P 500, companies were still out announcing dividend increases for investors.

Companies Increasing DividendsFrom big players like Weyerhaeuser (WY) to smaller companies like Atrion (ATRI) and Badger Meter (BMI), eight total companies bumped their yields and made it onto our list of Companies Increasing Dividends this week. (Note: All dividend yields are as of Aug. 16.)

Medical products manufacturer Atrion (ATRI) raised its quarterly dividend 14% to 64 cents per share, payable Sept. 30 to shareholders of record Sept. 13.
ATRI Dividend Yield: 1.03%

Water utility company Connecticut Water Service (CTWS) raised its quarterly dividend by 2% to 27.75 cents per share, payable Sept. 16 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 2.
CTWS Dividend Yield: 3.65%

Automobile retailer Group 1 Automotive (GPI) raised its quarterly dividend 6.3% to 17 cents per share, payable Sept. 16 to shareholders of record Sept. 2.
GPI Dividend Yield: 0.91%

Electricity transmission operator ITC Holdings (ITC) raised its quarterly dividend 13% to 42.5 cents per share, payable Sept. 16 to shareholders of record Sept. 3. The move represents  the eighth consecutive annual increase in the dividend.
ITC Dividend Yield: 1.97%

Debt and equity financing solutions provider Main Street Capital (MAIN) raised its monthly dividend 7% to 16 cents per share for the October, November and December 2013 payouts. The dividend is payable Oct. 15 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 20, payable Nov. 15 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 21, and payable Dec. 16 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 21.
MAIN Dividend Yield: 6.4%

Madison, Wis., energy provider MGE Energy (MGEE) raised its quarterly dividend 3% to 40.76 cents per share, payable Sept. 15 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 1.
MGEE Dividend Yield: 2.85%

Industrials supplier Nordson (NDSN) raised its quarterly dividend 20% to 18 cents per share, payable Sept. 10 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 27.
NDSN Dividend Yield: 1.03%

Forest and timber products REIT Weyerhaeuser (WY) raised its quarterly dividend 10% to 22 cents per share, payable Sept. 13 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 30.
WY Dividend Yield: 3.24%
