One potential Bank of America credit card customer (BAC) isn’t happy after the woman was called a ‘slut’ in a mailing addressed to her by the bank.

“Lisa Is A Slut McIntire” was the name on the credit card offer addressed to San Francisco-based Lisa McIntire, who took to Twitter to rail against Bank of America after the mail was sent to her mother’s address.

“I don’t know what is going on, but having my mom receive mail addressed to ‘Lisa Is A Slut McIntire’ is wildly not acceptable,” she tweeted on Thursday.

McIntire posted a screen grab of the letter (at right).

A spokesperson for Bank of America told media outlets that they were looking into the matter (via the LA Times).

“I have personally spoken with Ms. McIntire tonight and we are researching this issue,” Melissa Leitzell, vice president of communications for Golden Key, told The Times. “This error happened on our end, and not with Bank of America.”

“What kind of got my adrenaline pumping is that I’m a feminist writer on the Internet, so getting a piece of mail that my mom is opening that says I’m a ‘slut’ made me think, ‘Oh God, which troll of mine is doing this?'” McIntire said. “But I don’t think that’s what happened here. … My working theory is that this is some data entry person [messing] around. I don’t think it’s aimed at me.”

The 32-year-old was told by Bank of America that the company flags certain words, but that “slut” wasn’t one of them.

BAC stock is up 7% year to date.
