A Utah mother with concerns about what today’s teenagers are wearing decided that if the PacSun (PSUN) would not remove T-shirts she seemed too provocative, then she would buy them all up.

One of the PacSun shirts that a Utah mother deemed too offensive for others to have an opportunity to buy.

The AP reports that Judy Cox and her 18-year-old son saw the PacSun t-shirts at the University Mall store in Orem, Utah.

“These shirts clearly cross a boundary that is continually being pushed on our children in images on the Internet, television and when our families shop in the mall,” Cox said in an email to The Associated Press.

When she demanded the shirts be taken down and received a polite “no” from store management — who told her she could call the company headquarters — she bought up all the shirts.

Well, the ones she could get her hands on anyway.

It turns out the t-shirts are apparently very popular; there were only 19 left in stock, setting Cox back about $600.

She says she plans to return them after 60 days for her refund, though it’s unclear if the return policy would allow for it after her announcement.

Cox has since given a barrage of media interviews, telling each that she finds the shirts too offensive for other people to purchase and wear if they so choose.

“I hope my efforts will inspire others to speak up within their communities,” Cox said in an email. “You don’t have to purchase $600 worth of T-shirts, but you can express your concerns to businesses and corporations who promote the display of pornography to children.”

The store has since responded: “While customer feedback is important to us, we remain committed to the selection of brands and apparel available in our stores,” a statement from the company read.
