Victoria’s Secret (LB) lost an infringement case regarding its ‘Pink’ line.

Victoria's SecretThe case began when UK consumers began confusing Thomas Pink — a brand of luxury shirts owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH — with Victoria’s Secret’s Pink. Legal representatives of the Thomas Pink brand claimed that the name of the retailer’s line tarnished the sophistication of LVMH’s brand.

They argued that Victoria’s Secret advertises its products as being “sexy” whereas Thomas Pink products are luxury products. The High Court in London ruled that the Pink line was an infringement on Thomas Pink because it degraded the LVMH brand.

LB stock is down about 0.9%.
