The release of OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 6 came two weeks after the release of the fifth preview version of the operating system. The new preview of Yosemite can be downloaded through the Mac App Store and the Mac Developer Center, but it is currently only available to registered developers, reports Mac Rumors.

As with all new versions of the Yosemite Developer Preview, this one brings some changes to the operating system. Aesthetic changes to the new preview give it a more modern look while offering a newly redesigned dock and windows. Additional changes include an updated Spotlight and updates for the Mail, Safari and Messages apps, Mac Rumors notes.

Apple allowed 1 million users to join a beta for Yosemite last month. This beta isn’t expected to be updated as much as the developer preview. Users who join the beta are advised to used a separate Mac for it or have their data backed up.
