The Kindle hack that allowed hackers to obtain information regarding a person’s Amazon account appears to be fixed. The security issue was pointed out by Benjamin Daniel Mussler, a security researcher, in a blog post on Monday. However, he now claims that the online retailer has fixed the issue, reports PC World.

The Kindle hack that was behind the security threat came from books with sketchy sources. A hacker could place an e-book on the store and use it to put malicious code into a user’s account. This would allow the hacker to gain access to a user’s Amazon account, PC World notes.

The hack to obtain information could also affect users of Calibre, a free e-boot management tool. However, the creator of this tool has already fixed the issue.
