apple-rumors-apple-aapl-ios-8-betaBeta: Apple (AAPL) has released the second beta of iOS 8.1 to developers, reports AppleInsider. The new iOS 8.1 beta can be downloaded by officially registered developers from the iOS Dev Center or through a Software Update on a beta device. The first beta for iOS 8.1 was released last week to developers. The company is expected to reveal the newer version of iOS 8 to the public later this month. It’s also believed that the company will include Apple Pay in the new iOS 8 update.

Siri: A study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety claims that Siri is a huge distraction to drivers, MacRumors notes. According to the study, Apple’s hands-free driving with Siri was rated as causing the highest level of distraction in drivers. The study looked at how different tasks while driving distracted people. This included navigating simple and complex menus, changing the radio, listening to messages, composing messages and more. However, the study did note that there was room for Siri to become less of a distraction as technology improved.

Plus: A new report claims that Apple is shifting production to focus more on the iPhone 6 Plus and less on the iPhone 6, reports 9to5Mac. The tech company has had trouble keeping the iPhone 6 Plus in stock due to its high demand. This issue has caused the company to give more attention to the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6. This change isn’t likely to affect supply demands in the short term, but will help in the long term. Supply of the iPhone 6 Plus is expected to become even more limited as Apple prepares to release its new smartphones in China.
