Here are your Apple Rumors for today:

apple-rumors-apple-aapl-touchscreen-macBeta: Apple (AAPL) is allowing people to remain in its public beta for OS X Yosemite, reports MacRumors. Users that signed up and took part in the public beta testing of Yosemite will continue to be offered beta updates to the operating system. Users that took part in the public beta can just download the final release of Yosemite and they will still be offered future betas. However, it’s unclear if this will include minor beta updates or if it will only be limited to major beta updates.

Dropbox: With the release of iOS 8.1, Dropbox has received some new features, AppleInsider notes. Users of Dropbox on iOS 8.1 can now use TouchID with the service. This of course means that the new feature is limited to devices that have TouchID. The new feature allows users to change out a typical password in favor of their fingerprint. Other updates to the Dropbox app include changes that make it compatible with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays found on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Mac: According to Apple’s Craig Federighi, the company isn’t interested in making a touchscreen Mac, reports BGR. Federighi said that the company doesn’t feel that a touchscreen is the right kind of interface for a Mac because it’s “sort of a sit-down experience.” Instead, he said that the company is focused on building the best track pad that it can. Federighi is the senior vice president of software engineering for the company and he made his statements concerning Macs and touchscreens in an interview following the press event on Oct. 16.
