Tesla Motors (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk is interested in teaming up with BMW.

tesla-motors-tslaIn an interview on Sunday, Musk said that he is interested in the carbon fiber car parts used by BMW and that they are “relatively cost efficient.” He also said that his company is talking with BMW in the areas of “battery technology” and “charging stations,” reports Reuters.

While Musk seems ready to team up with BMW, it’s nothing concrete. A spokeswoman for Tesla said that the talks between the two car companies aren’t formal. BMW hasn’t commented on the matter and specific details of a possible team up are unknown, Reuters notes.

Tesla is already teaming up with Panasonic on its Nevada gigfactory. The creation of the plant will see the car company handling the construction and Panasonic will come in to handle the creation of the lithium-ion cells, reports PC Magazine.
