Amazon (AMZN) may be getting ready to offer one-hour bike delivery services in New York City.

amazon-bike-delivery-amznAmazon has assembled bike couriers from three different services in NYC and is testing their speed. The fastest of the services will likely become part of its delivery fleet in the city. The company is hoping to use a bike delivery service to get items to customers within an hour’s time, reports The Wall Street Journal.

As part of the test to build a bike delivery fleet in NYC, bicyclist are told to ride to a location and take a picture of it before returning. In between deliveries, the couriers can rest in a lounge equipped with a pool table, air hockey and foosball. The bicyclist work in eight-hour shifts and are paid roughly $15 an hour, WSJ notes.

Bike delivery isn’t the only change that Amazon is making. The online retailer also recently announced its “Make An Offer” service, which allows customers to communicate directly with sellers and negotiate prices with them, reports CNBC.

AMZN shares were up slightly as of Tuesday afternoon.
