Wednesday Apple Rumors: iOS 8 1.3 Update is Being Worked On

News that the tech company was working on the iOS 8 1.3 update was first spotted on Dec. 8. This is one day before the company released the iOS 8 1.2 to its users. As it is right now, there are only a dozen or so devices that have been seen using the new version of iOS. Sightings of the updated devices means that there is likely going to be at least one more update before the company released iOS 8.2, which is currently being tested by developers.

Bit: Apple has alerted app developers that they will have to change updates to 64-bit next year, AppleInsider notes. The app developers were told on Wednesday that as of June 1, 2015, all app updates will have to support 64-bit. It also told developers that all new apps submitted to the App Store after Feb. 1, 2015 will require 64-bit support and must be created with iOS 8 SDK. The company advises developers to use the “Standard architectures” in Xcode to add 64-bit support to their apps.

Emoji: A new third-party keyboard for Apple’s iOS predicts what emoji a person may want to use while they type, reports 9to5Mac. The new emoji keyboard can be used as the default keyboard for a device or just for looking up an emoji. The keyboard has a quick-type feature like many others available on iOS devices, but instead of suggesting words it suggest emoji. The app costs 99 cents in the App Store.
