A new patent shows what could be the future design of Google (GOOG) Glass.

The Google Glass patent shows a slimmer design that has a more futuristic feel to it. The updated look ditches the bulky casing that hangs over the ear on current versions of the wearable tech. It also appears that the piece that sits in front of the eye is smaller this time around and that it will house all of the tech in the device, reports Quartz.

Google Glass has been undergoing several redesigns in the last year. The company has also teamed up with Luxottica and Diane von Furstenberg to give the smartglasses a better look. The new patent was granted to Google on Tuesday, Quartz notes.

There have also been reports that the new Google Glass will be getting a processor from Intel (INTC). If this is true, it could give Google a doorway into the business world with its wearable tech, reports Digital Trends.
