GameStop (NYSE:GME) is looking to purchase RadioShack stores to expand its Spring Mobile stores following the latter’s bankruptcy.

gamestop-radioshack-spring-mobile-gmeGameStop has placed a bid to take over 163 leases of RadioShack locations for the possible  Spring Mobile expansion. The video game retailer will have a couple of months to decide if it wants to keep the leases or not. If the stores are used to expand Spring Mobile, it would increase the number of those stores from 311 to 474, reports Fortune.

The agreement between GameStop and RadioShack for the store leases will be looked over by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Brendan Shannon. The company has offered to pay $15,000 a piece for each of the old RadioShack locations, Fortune notes.

GameStop’s Spring Mobile stores are focused on selling phones to customers. The stores sell services and devices from AT&T (NYSE:T), reports Bloomberg.
