The NFL has announced that there won’t be blackouts of games in 2015.

nfl-news-blackoutsAccording to NBC Sports, this means that every game with be broadcast in its local area this year. This is a change from the NFL’s previous policy, which required tickets for a game to sell out 72 hours before it started for it to be televised.

The NFL policy of blackouts on games that didn’t sellout was an effort to keep ticket sales going. However, the Federal Communications Commission argued against this in 2014 and there were no blackouts that year, reports NBC Sports.

The NFL also announced that it will air one mid-season game online. The game will be between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars and it will allow online streaming services to bid for the right to air it. The game will still air on TV in its local area, The Wall Street Journal notes.
