The Tesla CEO believes that it’s possible in the future people could be banned from driving a “2-ton death machine” because it isn’t safe. However, he also said he hopes this doesn’t happen, reports USA Today.

According to Musk, the possibility of driverless cars taking over is something that won’t likely happen until the “distant future.” However, he did say that creating self-driving cars is a “solved problem” that will only take a few more years to complete, USA Today notes.

Musk also said that he expects Tesla to be the first company to offer a truly driverless car to customers.
