Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE:ANF) is making changes to how it hires people.

abercombie-&-fitch-anfAbercrombie & Fitch will no longer use its “Look Policy” when evaluating potential employees. This means that applicants won’t need a suitable “appearance and sense of style” as dictated by the company. The retailer will also allow employees to wear eyeliner and will lift several other appearance bans it had in place, reports Bloomberg.

The ending of the Look Policy is another attempt by Abercrombie & Fitch to distance itself from previous CEO Mike Jeffries. Jeffires left in December and was behind many of the strict rules for appearance that the company had. A replacement CEO is still being searched for, Bloomberg notes.

“We will not tolerate discrimination based on body type or physical attractiveness and will not tolerate discrimination in hiring based on any category protected under the law,” Christos Angelides, brand president at Abercrombie & Fitch, told Forbes.
