First-Ever YouTube Video Goes Viral on 10th Anniversary

Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) YouTube is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the first-ever YouTube video has gone viral.

first-ever-youtube-video-google-goog-googlThe first-ever YouTube video is titled Me at the zoo. The video was posted to the website on April 23, 2005. It features Jawed Karim, one of the video-sharing website’s founders, standing in front of a group of elephants at the zoo.

Here’s what Jawed has to say in the video:

“Alright so here we are in front of the elephants, and the cool thing about these guys is that they have really, really, really long, trunks, and that’s cool. And that’s pretty much all there is to say,”

The first-ever YouTube video currently has over 21 million views and it only lasts for about 20 seconds. Jawed’s YouTube channel currently has over 80,000 subscribers despite him having never posted another video on it.
