Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) has released the first official Google app for Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Watch.
The first Google app for Apple Watch is “Google News & Weather”. The app allows users to scroll through almost a dozen news headlines from 65,000 publications on the wearable device. It also allow users to use ForceTouch to sent a headlines to their Safari reading list, reports TechCrunch.
The first Google app for Apple Watch doesn’t do as much as other news apps. There are no summaries of stories included in the app. Users also can’t choose to select a story for reading via the main app on their iPhone, TechCrunch notes.
The new Google app for Apple Watch does have a feature to send notifications to users, but it’s largely useless. The notification contains the same basic information that users would see in the app after tapping it, reports MarketingLand.
