Google Search Results to Include Tweets From Twitter

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) will now include tweets from Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) in its search results.

Google SearchA Google search on mobile devices and desktops will now show tweets, according to an announcement made by both companies Tuesday. Ardan Arac, senior product manager for Google, wrote that the move will help users get real-time info when something is going on.

“And it’s another way for organizations and people on Twitter to reach a global audience at the most relevant moments,” Arac said.

Key phrases and hashtags alike will be shown when performing Google searches. The feature is available for searches in English for now.

Jana Messerschmidt, vice president of global business development & platform at Twitter said the move will help users explore their interests more on Twitter and Google.

GOOG stock is up 0.42% Wednesday and GOOGL stock is up 0.44%. TWTR stock is down 1.92%.
