Twitter announced that it will be removing the 140-character limit on Direct Messages on Thursday. The change will start next month and the new limit will be 10,000 characters, reports PCMagazine.
The Twitter announcement concerning the removal of the 140-character limit for Direct Messages also suggested that app developer prepare for the change early. This includes testing how the longer messages will work in relation to their API and UI, PCMagazine notes.
Developers that have apps connected to Twitter can keep track of the new update at this location. The company plans to announce more details concerning the change and when exactly it will be released in the coming weeks.
