Facebook (FB) isn’t allowing a Harvard student to intern with it after he exposed a security flaw in it’s website.

Aran Khanna created a Google (GOOG,GOOGL) Chrome extension called the Marauder’s Map that allowed Messenger users to see where everyone they were talking to was located. It was very accurate and Facebook told him to remove it. He claims he complied with the company’s request, reports Business Insider.

Following his reveal of the Facebook security flaw, the company cancelled an internship that he was going to take with it. It claims the nature of his blog, where he shared information about his extension, was the reason. It also claims his version of their interactions involving the extension were different than what actually happened, Business Insider notes.

Facebook typically rewards people who discover flaws in its website, not punish them. Despite having his internship cancelled, Khanna was able to get another internship with a different tech company located in Silicone Valley, reports The Next Web.
