There are plenty of movies and TV series that will be new on Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) beginning next month.
The October selection of features and shows available on the online streaming service includes a mixture of classics contemporary favorites and Netflix originals.
Ahead of the holiday season, the 1938 A Christmas Carol film will be on Netflix as of October 1st. Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby will also be released on that day.

- A Christmas Carol – NR/Drama – This 1938 classic is the highest-rated Christmas movie on Rotten Tomatoes.
- American Pie – R/Comedy – Raunchy 1999 comedy starring Jason Biggs suitable for teenagers and young adults.
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – PG/Adventure – Johnny Depp and Tim Burton hit gold once again in 2005.
- Million Dollar Baby – PG-13/Drama – Clint Eastwood directed this 2004 Oscar-winning boxing flick, starring Hilary Swank in the title role.

- Monkey Thieves (seasons 1-3) – The documentary series follows the lives of monkeys living in Jaipur, India.
- Richard Pryor: Icon – Documentary – This hour-long documentary examines the life and career of one of the funniest comedians ever.
- Robin Williams Remembered (A Pioneers of Television Special) – Documentary – A look back at the enduring legacy of comedic actor Robin Williams.
- The Navy SEALs: Their Untold Story – Documentary – Delve into the life of some of our military heroes, who excel in Sea, Air and Land.
New on Netflix: October 2-6
- Anjelah Johnson: Not Fancy – Comedy – Johnson is an actress, comedian and former NFL cheerleader.
- The Vampire Diaries (season 6) – Drama – One of the hottest vampire shows in the U.S. keeps on rolling.
- Alpha and Omega 5: Family Vacation – Animated – Two young wolves make up this animated film, suitable for the whole family.
- The Flash (season 1) – Action – We all love superheroes nowadays and this new series chronicles the life of the beloved Flash.
New on Netflix: October 7
- Arrow (season 3) – Action – A new season of another superhero show is being launched on Netflix.
- Flor Salvaje (season 1) – This telenovela was launched on Telemundo several years ago.
- Legends (season 1) – Action – Deep-cover operative Martin Odum is a versatile man with an identity issue.
- Supernatural (season 10) – Drama – This superhero series has reached its 10th season now, which you can check out online next month.
New on Netflix: October 14-28
- The Lazarus Effect – PG-13/Horror – Is it possible to bring dead patients back to life? Watch this film.
- Hemlock Grove (season 3) – Horror – A teenage girl is murdered in a town where everyone has secrets.
