Sony Makes Permanent Price Cut to PlayStation 4

Sony (SNE) has cut the PlayStation 4’s price down to $349 in the United States.

The price cut of for the PlayStation 4 marks the first time a permanent one has been put in place by Sony in the U.S. The new price is $50 lower than the previous price and puts the console at the same price as Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox One that doesn’t come with a Kinect, reports TechCrunch.

It’s likely that gamers across the pond will also see a PlayStation 4 price cut in the near future. Sony has already cut the price of the video game console in Japan. It’s likely that SNE is cutting the price of the PlayStation 4 so that it will better compete with the Xbox One is sales during the upcoming holiday season, TechCrunch notes.

Sony cutting the price of the PlayStation 4 isn’t the only good news for gamers. Customers that go to pick up the console at its reduced price will be able to choose between two different bundles. One bundle contains Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the other has Star Wars Battlefront, reports Cnet.
