Bass Pro Shops is reportedly considering buying Cabela’s (CAB).
News that Bass Pro Shops was interested in purchasing Cabela’s was reported by Reuters. The news source cites unnamed individuals close to the matter. These sources claim the company is in contact with an investment bank to look over a possible deal.
When Reuters asked Bass Pro Shops about its interests in acquiring Cabela’s, the company refused to comment. Cabela’s investor Elliott Management, which has an 11% stake in the company, has expressed interest in CAB exploring its options, which include a possible sale.
News that Bass Pro Shops was interested in Cabela’s was reported on Thursday. Following this, CAB stock saw a major jump in price. The stock jumped up 10% on Thursday.
CAB shares were down 1% as of Friday afternoon.
