Starbucks said that one additional family member of veterans and current members of the military in the United States will be able to attend college for free. The additional free college tuition is available to either the employee’s spouse or one of their children.

The offer for free college tuition from Starbucks allows family members of military employees to attend Arizona State University and earn a bachelor’s degree for free. The company allows many of its employees to attend the college for free, but the extension to family members is limited to its military employees.

Starbucks also noted that it has hired 5,500 veterans and military spouses since 2013. This means the company has reached its halfway goal of hiring veterans and their spouses that it set for itself back in 2013. It has until 2018 to hire 10,000 veterans or their spouses.
