Glu Mobile (GLUU) Stock Pops on ‘Kendall & Kylie’ Game Launch

Glu Mobile (NASDAQ:GLUU) is receiving a first-quarter bump from the upcoming release of Kendall & Kylie.

The Jenner sisters — and stars of Keeping Up with the Kardashians — are the stars of the new celebrity game by Glu Mobile, which you can download from the App Store or the Google Play Store. The game is slated to be released on Feb. 18.

The initial success of the game has the mobile game publisher on pace to surpass its first-quarter guidance. GLUU stock has increased as Kendall and Kylie is on schedule and has been faring well in initial markets.

Glu Mobile is recovering from the failure of the Katy Perry Pop game, which caused GLUU stock to sink quite a bit. The company is hoping the Jenner sisters’ game will reach the heights of Kim Kardashian:Hollywood, a Glu Mobile game that has experienced succcess since its June 2014 release.

The Kim Kardashian game produced the following revenues in its first three quarters of existence:

  • Q2’14: $1.6 million
  • Q3’14: $43.4 million
  • Q4’14: $29.3 million

Glu Mobile is banking on more revenue from the glamour of the stylish Kardashian and Jenner families in the form of an interactive game.

GLUU stock is is up 5.6% Thursday.
