SBUX Lawsuit: Starbucks Sued for Underfilling Lattes

A new class action lawsuit against Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) claims that it has been underfilling its lattes.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. district court of Northern California, the company uses standardized recipes that it implemented in 2009 to save money. These recipes allegedly result in lattes being smaller than their listed sizes.

The lawsuit claims that the coffee chain is committing fraud and that it’s saved millions of dollars by not filling cups up all the way. Starbucks has already responded to the lawsuit and claims that it’s without merit, reports Eater.

Starbucks isn’t the only company that’s been taken to court over the size of its products. Subway faced a similar lawsuit over the length of its footlong subs and lost. As a result, it had to pay representatives in the lawsuit and promise to make changes to its subs.
