Microsoft will no longer be offering Windows 10 as a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8  users after July 29. As a result, the company said it will be removing the upgrade app, but that it will take time to get it off of everyone’s devices.

The Windows 10 upgrade app allows users to easily move from Windows 7 or Windows 8 for free, but won’t be necessary after July 29. Users that want to upgrade to Windows 10 after this point will have to purchase the upgrade, reports Winbeta.

Microsoft released Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. It’s been offering the free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users since then. However, this upgrade isn’t available for pirated copies of those operating systems.
