Blizzard’s (NASDAQ:ATVI) Overwatch has already caused some headaches in its infancy.
The game was released less than a month ago in the U.S., and the developers have decided to remove the ‘Avoid This Player’ feature because of the issues it created.
One ‘Widowmaker’ — a top player in the first-person shooter — complained to Blizzard over the fact that it took him ages to find an online opponent to play Overwatch with.
He later discovered that a lot of players had set the ‘Avoid This Player’ feature on him because he was a very good player, not because of poor behavior or anything of the sort.
Once he was finally matched up, his opponent would turn out to be playing at a much lower level.
Blizzard says the feature was designed for the right reasons, but it proved to be a disaster.
ATVI stock is down 0.9% Wednesday.
