Panera Bread Co Cuts Artificial Ingredients From Its Grocery Store Products

Panera Bread Co (PNRA) has announced that it’s removing artificial ingredients from its grocery store products.

Panera, PNRAThe change means that Panera will be removing artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, artificial preservatives and colors from artificial sources from its products that are sold in retail stores. This means that the products won’t contain any items from the company’s “No No List.”

“We decided early on to use refrigeration to help extend shelf life for products like our soups and salad dressings,” Sara Burnett, Director of Wellness and Food Policy at Panera, said about its retail products.”Where necessary, we’ve relied on natural preservatives –such as rosemary extract– to do the job.”

PNRA expects to complete this effort by the end of 2016.
