Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) is denying rumors that there is trouble with its Model S cars.
In a blog post from the Tesla Team, the company stated that rumors of its Model S cars having suspension issues were false. It said these rumors came from a single owner’s blog post and that his vehicle had experienced an unusual amount of rust.
TSLA pointed out that the person that authored the blog post lived down a back road and that their Model S was covered in dirt. It also noted that they started a deathwatch blog for the company back in May 19, 2008 and said the person’s word should be taken with a grain of salt.
Tesla also explained that it owns all of its service centers, which means it would know of a possible suspension defect if there was one. It stated that it has rigorously tackled safety issue in the past and shot down talk that it requires customers to sign agreements so they won’t speak with the NHTSA about problems.
TSLA shares were down 3% as of Friday morning.
