AI News: Macy’s, Inc. to Test Artificial Intelligence Shopping Tool Powered by International Business Machines Corp.’s Watson

Macy’s, Inc. (NYSE:M) is testing a new service called “Macy’s On Call” that helps customers in their stores.

AI News, Macy's, Watson, IBM, M StockMacy’s On Call can be accessed via a mobile browser and is currently being tested in 10 of the company’s stores. It allows customers to ask questions about what they are looking for, deals and more. It’s powered by International Business Machines Corp.’s (NYSE:IBM) Watson AI.

Watson will continue to learn from customer inquiries to better help them. While all 10 of the locations will let customers ask for help, five of them will also support a feature for employees seeking aid from the AI.

Here are the 10 Macy’s locations that will be providing customer support through Watson.

  • Macy’s Montgomery – Located in Bethesda, Md.
  • Macy’s Woodbridge Center – Located in Woodbridge, N.J.
  • Macy’s Clackamas Town Center – Located in Portland, Ore.
  • Macy’s Santa Anita – Located in Arcadia, Calif.
  • Macy’s Miami International – Located in Miami, Fla.
  • Macy’s Short Hills – Located in Short Hills, N.J.
  • Macy’s Mall of Georgia – Located in Buford, Ga.
  • Macy’s Lenox Square – Located in Atlanta, Ga.
  • Macy’s Aventura – Located in North Miami, Fla.
  • Macy’s Roosevelt Field – Located in Garden City, N.Y.

Macy’s said that it plans to continue the Watson pilot program through late Fall 2016. Customers that want to test the service out can do so at macys.com/storehelp.
