Houston Shooting: What We Know About Suspect Nathan DeSai

A shooting took place in the southwest part of Houston, Texas and Nathan DeSai is the primary suspect.

Nathan DeSai was an attorney that lived in Houston. He started shooting at innocent civilians on Monday morning. Police found his car, a Porsche, near the location and he used a tree close to it for cover while shooting at police.

According to police, Nathan DeSai had two guns and more than 2,600 rounds of ammo. He was also wearing a military style of clothing that had a swastika on it. His motives in the shooting are unknown, but some people who knew him said he had become overly paranoid in the last few months.

Nathan DeSai also reportedly pulled a gun on two roofers that were making repairs to his condo in August. The manager of the building said residents had been informed of the work. Police said there was no call related to the incident.

Nathan DeSai had been struggling with work over the last few years. The attorney behind the Houston shooting had no active criminal or civil cases. He also had only taken two criminal cases since 2013. Kenneth McDaniel, his law partner of 12 years, left the partnership earlier this year, reports KTRK-TV‎.

The Houston shooting started at 6:30 a.m. local time. Nathan DeSai traded gunfire with police for 20 minutes before being killed. He shot six people and three others were injured during the event. One of the people shot is in critical condition, but the other five are expected to recover.
