There’s a new dating app in the market called Raya.
The technology only supports a specific demographic of the world in order to add an air of exclusivity. Here are seven things to know about it:
- The app targets artists and other creative apps, focusing on those whose name you would probably recognize.
- Raya allows celebrities, YouTube stars and other artists to join based on their Instagram and other social media presence. You need to have a certain following to join.
- Some are calling it the “Illuminati Tinder” as a selective and secretive group of people chooses who gets in and who doesn’t.
- Privacy is quite important for such an app, as you can screenshot images from other people’s profiles, but you get a warning that if that image ends up online, you may get kicked out.
- Raya is a bit more intimate than Tinder as a person’s profile allows you to view a PowerPoint-esque video presentation of their life, including moving images played to music in a similar fashion to the way you can view your Facebook friends’ profile over the years if they choose to share it.
- Most users on the app prefer to keep their presence on it in the down low, further pointing toward the privacy issues that other apps have.
- Some prefer Raya for the simple fact that everyone on the app supposedly have their life together, unlike other dating apps.
Will you try and get on it?
