Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) is offering free donuts to customers.
Customers can get a single free original glaze donut from Krispy Kreme today if they talk like a pirate. All that it required is that they say “ahoy” while talking to a member of the company’s team.
Krispy Kreme is also offering a free order of one dozen original glaze donuts to any customers that stop by in a pirate costume. The donut and coffee chain requires at least three pirate items, such as a bandanna, eye patch and hat, for it to be considered a pirate costume.
Customers that don’t want to don the pirate costume or talk like a pirate can still get free donuts. They can use a Snapchat filter to make themselves look like a pirate. All they need to do is show the social media post to an employee to get 12 free original glaze donuts.
Krispy Kreme is only allowing customers to get one of its special offers for Talk Like a Pirate Day. This means customers can’t get 13 donuts by talking like a pirate and dressing like one.
The Talk Like a Pirate Day deal at Krispy Kreme is available at all participating locations. Stores located in Anchorage, Alaska, casino locations in Connecticut, Hickory & Lenoir, N.C., and Puerto Rico aren’t talking part in the promotion.
Krispy Kreme is also selling two pirate donuts today. The first is a filled donut with a pirate face drawn on it. The second is a skull and crossbones donut with chocolate icing, white icing for the skull and a piece of candy on top.
