Ryan Lochte will be tying the knot soon.
He and girlfriend Kayla Rae Reid have gotten engaged. The swimmer popped the question in Malibu Canyon with a diamond ring that reflected a stunning sunset overlooking the couple.
Here are seven things to know about Reid and her story with Lochte:
- The two met at a Los Angeles club, started dating three days later, back in January.
- Soon after that, she met Lochte’s mother. Reid initially thought the move was fast, but the two gals were seen in a photo with Lochte being friends quicker than most expected.
- She lives in Los Angeles, according to her Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR). She joined the social media site on December 2012, and she has garnered more than 17,800 followers.
- Her Instagram features quite a bit of variety thanks to her work as a model, including glam shots, swimsuit photos and images of her donning athletic attire.
- She is especially fond of the color red as it is one of the colors she wears the most in her shoots. The color black is among her favorites as well.
- Reid owns a cute dog who keeps her company when Lochte is training.
- Chances are that she’s a fan of swimming, but she enjoys playing tennis as well.
The Olympic swimmer received plenty of flak for his exit from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, where he claimed that he and three other athletes were robbed at gunpoint. It was later revealed that police stopped them after he vandalized a bathroom at a gas station.
Lochte is still competing in Dancing With the Stars with partner Cheryl Burke. He won a gold medal in the Olympics this past summer.
