Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY) has announced its Thanksgiving hours for 2016.
The company is one of many retailers looking to get a leg up from its competitors on the busiest shopping day of the season known as Black Friday. Best Buy will open its doors on Thanksgiving Day at 5 p.m. and keep its doors open until 1 a.m. that same evening.
It may seem as if the company will be cutting into family time on America’s favorite holiday, but some households are likely to complain as they do every year. In fact, following the results of one of the most contentious elections in U.S. history, there is sure to be some bickering on the dinner table.

As far as shopping online goes, you will be able to buy products from Best Buy’s website starting at midnight on Thanksgiving day, allowing for Cyber Monday to begin earlier. More than 1,000 stores in 47 states will open their doors, with the exceptions coming in states where it is illegal to open on Thanksgiving, including Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
BBY stock edged 1% higher on Wednesday afternoon.
