Taco Bell is planning to increase the number of restaurants it has in the United States to 9,000 locations. The company will need additional employees to work at these new restaurants. It currently has about 6,000 locations.

Taco Bell says that the new restaurants will help it reach its goal of “$15 billion in global system sales by 2022.” The extra 100,000 employees will be a huge addition to its current workforce, which currently sits at 210,000 employees across company-owned and franchise locations.

To help with its goal of hiring new employees, the fast food company has launched its “Start with Us, Stay with Us” platform. This platform is designed to help employees by offering them benefits in education and help them build careers.

“We understand that Taco Bell is a first job for a lot of people,” Frank Tucker, Chief People Officer at Taco Bell, said in a statement. “Whether they want to start with us for a year or stay with us for life, we feel it’s our responsibility to make sure we’re offering benefits and programs that create innovators and leaders for our communities inside and out of our restaurants.”

Taco Bell offers a scholarship program for its employees to help them attend school. It has handed out over $75 million in scholarships and grants to help recipients move forward with their education and careers.

YUM stock was largely unaffected by the Taco Bell hiring news as of Friday afternoon.
