Kanye West and Donald Trump met at Trump Tower today.
Tuesday morning was an eventful day for the President-elect and West, who expressed his desire to run as a presidential candidate in 2020. The two were in good spirits as West was recovering from an incident last month that landed him in the hospital.
West was at a concert in Oakland where he only played a couple of songs before he went on a 10-minute rant about politics, the presidency, hip hop and other topics. He then stormed the stage, leaving fans confused and then cancelling the rest of his tour.
Fans received an email notifying them of the cancelation and they got their money back. West was then sent to the hospital where he received treatment for exhaustion and emotional turmoil.
Today, Trump and West met, but the nature of their relationship and meeting is unclear. As West was leaving, Trump said the rapper is a good man and added that the two have been friends for a long time.
West admitted that he didn’t vote, but he said he wished he had voted for Trump. Earlier in the year, West and wife Kim Kardashian were part of a Clinton rally, following the lead of most of the hip hop community.
West’s support for billionaire hotel mogul Trump has met plenty of criticism from other hip hop artists.
