Jet.com is going to launch a new private-label brand of food called “Uniquely J.”

Uniquely J: Jet.com to Launch Private-Label Line

The Uniquely J will include groceries that customers can order from the website and have delivered to their homes. It will also offer other household items, such as laundry detergent. The new Jet.com brand will start out with about 60 items.

Jet.com says that it will also be working to expand the number and type of items available under the Uniquely J brand over the next few months. It wants to add pet, baby and beauty products to the private brand.

The new private label brand from Jet.com is Wal-Mart Stores Inc’s (NYSE:WMT) effort to draw in different types of customers. The items in the Uniquely J brand will be higher end and hopefully appeal more to Millennials living in large cities, reports Fortune.

Walamrt, which bought Jet.com for $3.3 billion last year, is also likely hoping to challenge Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) with the new effort. The Uniquely J line will likely be aiming for the same type of customers that are drawn to AMZN’s Whole Foods 365 private label brand.

“Instead of focusing in on any one aspect of product development, we’ve created a uniquely valuable brand experience that will speak to the metro millennial lifestyle,” Meredith Klein, Director of PR at Jet.com, told Money Magazine.

Walmart has also been looking for other ways to bring its products to customers. A recent test taking place in Silicone Valley has it teaming up with Deliv to bring groceries straight to customers’ fridges.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.
