Thursday’s Stocks to Watch: Bed Bath & Beyond, Red Hat

Here are a few stocks to keep an eye on:

  • Shares of Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY) rose 2.4% in early Thursday trading after the company beat Wall Street’s first-quarter profit and revenue expectations. Same-store sales rose about 7% in the quarter, down from an 8.4% rise a year earlier.
  • Red Hat (NYSE:RHT) gained 4.6% after the company topped analysts’ first-quarter profit and revenue estimates. Quarterly revenue rose nearly 27% from a year ago.
  • Bristol-Myers (NYSE:BMY) was up 5.2% and Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) shares gained 2.2% after the companies announced that their Eliquis drug meet its primary and key secondary endpoints in a Phase III study of patients with atrial fibrillation and at least one additional risk factor for stroke.
  • Paychex (NASDAQ:PAYX) rose 1% after the company met Wall Street’s fiscal fourth-quarter profit expectations but beat revenue estimates. The company similarly projected profit within current estimates for its current fiscal year but said revenue would top the Street’s current expectations.
