Ford (F) Americas president Joe Hinrichs has confirmed that the Aluminum Ford F-150 is on schedule.
Hinrichs spoke in response to Morgan Stanley‘s comments over a possible delay for the vehicle. He said that the Aluminum Ford F-150 is still slated for a late 2014 release.
“Everything is on schedule and everything is going as planned,” Hinrichs said. “I’m very confident in this vehicle.” The Aluminum Ford F-150 is about 700 pounds lighter than its steel equivalent.
Ford plans on retooling two factories as part of a plan to add 16 new models in North America.
F stock is up about 1.6% late Tuesday morning.
